I made my chair using this box. (recycled material!!) This picture is how it looked like before I started my project.
I really like the Gold top...that was like the only reason I kept this box for so long.
(It was originally a chinese snack container)
this is my chair:(undone)
The only part that I still have to work on are the legs...so it will be done by tonight. (my aunt said it looks really Egyptian now...)
but what do you guys think? should I add something else? or I can just put on the legs and make it a normal chair project?
This is very interesting and will be more dynamic with legs. What does the back look like? I could see you being interested in fibers at some point. Where is the patterns in nature project?
回覆刪除It would be neat to see all of your sculptures on your blog and keep up on their progress.
I think it definitely needs legs...and maybe when you photograph you could have someone model with it-- or you could. I feel like chairs are really expressive and have certain uses, what specific use is this chair for? Is it expressing your character in a certain way? That might help you with how you photograph it. Other wise, I love it!
回覆刪除I think you did a great job with the weaving! The pattern and the colors are very rich and exotic looking. Maybe instead of just doing legs you could but a base like those on old Chinese chairs with a cut out pattern which might activate some more space and add some complexity. Overall I think it looks awesome. Great job!
回覆刪除I like the colors alot, and the weaving is flawless!! Lauren's idea is pretty cool- I think it would give a good level of depth to it (like the old vs. new/technology & consumerism cultures). And your use of materials is SO cool and original! Very very very very good job!!!
回覆刪除Ivy this is really awesome. Its really well done.. looks very neat! Also, I agree it would be nice to have legs and maybe do something different with the legs instead of generic legs. When you photograph it, it could be cool to do it where it just doesnt fit at all to really extenuate your work. I really, really like it!
回覆刪除Awesome !! I think u put much effort into this project. U got beautiful patterns too
回覆刪除this is awesome- it's really clean and the pattern works really well. you could maybe make the legs not straight to contrast the sharp edges in the rest of the chair?
回覆刪除I reallly like your chair ivy !!!! how could you get this idea !! you made wonderful chair with piece of BOX ! nice work. i love the patter and the shape of chair, and i love the color mix too
回覆刪除THis is sweeet. The cleanless of the lines and the simplicity is just awesome. I do think it could use a base though.
回覆刪除oh.. I love your chair. Patterns and colors are well developed. I think you put so much efforts and time with this.
